Those who are familiar with the standard manual of arms of the modern US Army will find little difference in the movements described herein. There are some differences that should be highlighted:

It is a good idea not to let the firing pin fall on an empty chamber. Thus, where the manual says to simply pull the trigger after cocking the piece while unloaded, we recommend that the right thumb hold the cocking knob back while the trigger is pulled and then easing the firing pin forward.

Other, more subtle, differences will be noted including movements and commands no longer used in the modern US Army.
